Becky Trimble is a devoted resident therapist, speaker, and retreat coordinator who embraces a holistic body, mind, and spirit approach to healing. Currently completing her residencies in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling, Becky integrates a deeply person-centered and trauma-informed philosophy into her work, empowering clients to navigate life’s challenges with compassion, resilience, and self-discovery.

A proud mother of four beautiful and diverse children and partner to an amazing husband, Becky embraces the messy realities of life with love and authenticity. She has a whimsical love for chips and salsa (especially queso!) and Diet Coke, and believes that laughter and adventure are essential ingredients to a joyful life.

Becky is deeply committed to helping individuals, teens, families, and couples find their voice, build resilience, and cultivate joyful, compassionate connections. She specializes in supporting clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress management, communication difficulties, self-esteem, intimacy, and parenting.

She has a particular interest in working with neurodivergent individuals and couples, helping clients better understand themselves and each other, communicate needs, navigate differences, and build relationships that work with their brains and nervous systems rather than constantly fighting against them. Becky believes there is no single “right” way to experience the world—and sometimes what looks like a communication problem is really two people speaking completely different emotional dialects.

Becky also works with individuals healing from complex trauma and difficult or emotionally unhealthy relationships, including experiences involving narcissistic abuse, chronic emotional invalidation, manipulation, betrayal, relational trauma, family-of-origin wounds, and prolonged experiences that have affected a person’s sense of safety, identity, or self-worth.

Her work in this area is about much more than simply “getting over” what happened. Becky helps clients explore how past experiences may continue to show up in relationships, boundaries, self-esteem, emotional responses, and the way they see themselves. Together, they can work toward rebuilding trust in themselves, strengthening boundaries, recognizing patterns, and creating relationships that feel healthier and more authentic.

Attachment work is a meaningful part of Becky’s approach. She helps clients explore how early experiences and significant relationships can influence the ways they connect, communicate, protect themselves, seek closeness, or pull away. Sometimes our brains and nervous systems are simply trying to protect us with strategies they learned a very long time ago. Becky helps clients approach those patterns with curiosity rather than shame—and, when appropriate, learn new ones.

Becky believes healing is rarely a straight line. In fact, it can sometimes feel more like taking the scenic route, making three wrong turns, circling the block, and eventually realizing you needed to see something you couldn't see the first time around.

Her approach is inspired by the wisdom of the poem Return by Chelan Harkin:

“Another round through the dark, narrow tunnels of healing.
I swear I’ve been here before and I swore I’d never return,
but this time it’s to heal the myth that there’s failure in returning.
‘Regression’ is a deeper look into your soul’s needs.
Darling, your life is blossom after blossom on the thousand-petaled lotus,
lesson after lesson.”

This reminds Becky and her clients that healing is often cyclical rather than linear, that revisiting old wounds is not failure but a profound step toward growth and transformation.

Becky is thrilled to launch the Joy and Compassion Collective in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Partnered with Intrenseq Counseling to support individuals and families. She also designs and leads retreats and client events focused on personal growth, mindfulness, and connection—creating safe and inspiring spaces for healing and transformation. Becky is available to attend and speak at your event or retreat to share her expertise and foster healing and growth in group settings.

With nearly 30 years of experience in corporate and nonprofit leadership, coaching, and program management, Becky brings practical insight and organizational skill to her therapeutic work. Recently relocated to Virginia after nearly a decade living and working remotely from Italy, she enjoys nature, hiking, traveling, and exploring diverse cultures, believing that broadening perspectives fosters healing and growth.

EMDR & Trauma Healing

Sometimes our brains hold onto experiences long after we wish they would just get the memo and move on. Becky uses EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process trauma, painful experiences, and emotional patterns that continue to show up in the present. The goal isn’t to erase the past, but to help it feel less in charge—creating more room for calm, confidence, connection, and choice.

Erotic Recovery & Couples Intimacy

When betrayal, disconnection, or life’s many complications have taken the spark out of a relationship, couples can wonder, “How do we find our way back to each other?” Becky helps couples navigate betrayal recovery, rebuilding trust, desire, intimacy, and sexual connection with warmth, honesty, and without shame. Whether you're recovering from an affair or simply feeling like intimacy isn't quite where you want it to be, therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and rediscover connection—emotionally, relationally, and erotically.

Becky’s approach blends practical skills, deep compassion, and a focus on empowerment—helping clients embrace both life’s joys and challenges while building a future grounded in hope and resilience.

At the heart of Becky’s work is a belief that healing and growth can coexist with joy, laughter, and a really good queso.

Let’s get growing, together.
